The government has updated how to access its guidance for the application of the Rental Vehicle Security Scheme (RVSS) code of practice, republishing files as opposed to significantly updating the contents.
The guidance sets out a series of voluntary measures designed to strengthen security across rental operations, including processes to verify customers, train staff and protect vehicle fleets.
A template security delivery plan has been provided to help businesses assess their current approach and implement the recommended measures within day-to-day operations.
Members can also use the BVRLA’s rental inspection checklist, which supports members in complying with the Code of Conduct, which includes RVSS.
