Senior representatives from government will appear before the Transport Select Committee this week as part of its ongoing inquiry into the UK’s transition to zero emission vehicles.
Minister for Aviation, Maritime and Decarbonisation, Keir Mather, and Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) Director, Richard Bruce, are scheduled to give oral evidence on Wednesday 29 April.
The session forms part of the Committee’s ‘Supercharging the EV transition’ inquiry, which is examining the key challenges and opportunities shaping the shift to electric mobility.
The inquiry is wide-ranging, covering issues that will be familiar to BVRLA members, including the performance of the used EV market, the effectiveness of current incentives, the future of electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED), and the rollout and accessibility of charging infrastructure. These are all areas where the association has consistently called for further clarity and policy development.
BVRLA Chief Executive Toby Poston provided evidence to the Committee at the end of March, highlighting many of the same concerns and priorities on behalf of the sector.

EV transition topics including the used EV market, future motoring taxes and charging infrastructure will be on the agenda at the BVRLA’s Fleets in Charge Conference in July. Visit the website for more information and to book: Fleets in Charge Conference.
