BVRLA gives evidence to Transport Select Committee

Key issues affecting the sector, spanning the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mandate, the used EV market, electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED), and concerns over consumer confidence were all tabled as the BVRLA gave oral evidence to the Transport Select Committee last week.

The session provided an opportunity for BVRLA Chief Executive, Toby Poston, to set out member priorities directly to MPs and policymakers. This included highlighting concerns around the used EV market and eVED, where alignment with other industry contributors reflected a growing consensus on the need for further consideration.

With the formal consultation on eVED having recently closed, the session was a timely moment to remind the committee of the sector’s deep concerns with the proposed regime.

Engagement with the Committee forms part of the BVRLA’s ongoing work to represent member interests at the highest level and ensure that key sector issues are understood as policy continues to develop.
