Login Issues: Do You Need to Create a New BVRLA Account?

If you’re unable to log in to your BVRLA online account, the issue may not be your password — you might not have an account set up yet. This article will help you understand whether you already have an account and guide you through the process of creating a new one where needed.

1. Check Whether You Already Have an Existing Account

If you work for a BVRLA member organisation, there’s a good chance an account may already be associated with your work email address. The BVRLA advises that existing members may already have an account set up, and the quickest way to check is to try resetting your password using the “Forgot your password” option on the login page. Login/Register

If your email is recognised, you’ll receive a reset link and can reactivate your access.

However, if the system does not recognise your email address, it’s likely no account exists yet — continue to the next step.

2. When You Need to Register for a New Account

If you’re new to the BVRLA website, or your email address has never been set up before, you will need to register for a free account. The official Register for a free account page requires you to complete the following fields:

  • Title
  • Forename
  • Surname
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Organisation (if applicable)
  • Acceptance of Terms & Conditions
  • Acceptance of Privacy Policy [bvrla.co.uk]

Your registration cannot be submitted unless all mandatory fields are completed and the required policies are accepted.

3. If You’re a Member Organisation User: Approval May Be Required

Users registering under a member organisation will go through an approval process. According to BVRLA guidance, once the form is submitted:

  • Your registration may need to be approved by your organisation’s Primary Contact or admin user.
  • This is part of the updated BVRLA website structure, designed to ensure only verified colleagues gain access to member‑only resources. Maximise your Member Access

Approval times can vary depending on your organisation’s internal processes, so it’s worth giving your internal Primary Contact a heads‑up.

4. Troubleshooting Common Registration Problems

If you're unable to complete the registration process, review the following checks:

✔️ The form won’t submit

✔️ Email issues

  • Make sure you use your work email if you are part of a member organisation.    Login/Register

✔️ Browser or technical issues

Try the following quick fixes:

  1. Clearing Browser Cache & Cookies
    Open your browser.
Go to Settings (usually three dots or lines in the corner).
    Look for Privacy or History.
    Click Clear browsing data.
    Tick Cache and Cookies.
    Hit Clear.

  2. Switching browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
Close the browser you're using now.
Open another one (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
Go to the same website again.
    See if it works better.

  3. Using a private/incognito window
  4. Temporarily disabling ad blockers or script‑blocking extensions
Click the extensions icon in your browser (puzzle‑piece or three dots).Find your ad blocker or script blocker.
    Toggle the switch OFF.
Refresh the page and try again.
Turn it back ON when you’re done.

These steps resolve most issues where registration forms fail to load or submit.

5. What Happens After Registration?

Once your account is approved and activated, you will gain access to:

  • Member‑exclusive resources
  • Guidance materials
  • Improved ADR case management
  • The MyBVRLA area for bookings, payments and preference management

This digital upgrade is part of BVRLA’s ongoing improvements to enhance member experience.
