Used EV Week returns this September

The BVRLA is bringing the sector together for #UsedEVWeek this September (21-27), creating a concentrated period of activity focused on the used electric vehicle market.

The campaign follows the inaugural #UsedEVWeek last October, when organisations from across the automotive sector used a shared banner to publish insight, evidence and positive stories about used EVs. This year’s activity will follow the same principle: concentrating industry communications into a single week to create greater visibility and impact.

It comes at an important point for the market and builds on the association's focus on the benefits of used EVs in its communications efforts this summer. The latest used car figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show the market returned to growth in the Q2 2026, with sales of used electric vehicles continuing to accelerate. In line with this, Autotrader reports that values are no longer on the consistent downturn that has been seen previously.

A factor behind that uplift is the volatility in global fuel prices due to conflict in the Middle East. It is important that the market can forge a stable long-term base that sees demand remain once fuel prices stabilise.

#UsedEVWeek – kicking off on Monday 21 September – is one way in which the BVRLA is working to help turn that short-term momentum into sustained demand and greater consumer confidence.

#UsedEVWeek will give the sector an opportunity to demonstrate the benefits that can be found in the used market for electric cars. Content is expected to highlight the flexible ways by which vehicles can be sourced or funded, the quality and variety of cars reaching the market, and reliability that motorists should be able to expect.

The BVRLA will punctuate the week with new activity and announcements of its own, while members and other industry stakeholders are encouraged to take part by sharing their own data, insight, case studies and content.

By coordinating activity under #UsedEVWeek, the aim is to make the progress being achieved across the market harder to miss and help ensure recent success provides a platform for longer-term growth.
