The BVRLA’s Annual Dinner took place last week at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, welcoming over 950 guests, comprising of industry colleagues, stakeholders and decision makers. The association’s chairperson, Lakshmi Moorthy opened proceedings with an overview of the positive progress being delivered by the BVRLA and its members.

Addressing guests, Lakshmi said: “Whether you represent a global leasing company, a national rental brand, a specialist broker or a growing SME, the pressures are real. Regulatory complexity, cost pressures, supply chain volatility, compliance demands; these are not challenges confined to one part of our membership. They are shared across our community. Where the situation has changed, the BVRLA has been there.”

Chief Executive Toby Poston followed Lakshmi with a message to champion the industry: “If, like us, you are frustrated at the level of taxation, the Government’s neglect of the used EV market and the vehicle rental sector, or its ill-conceived road pricing plans – help us to do something about it. Member perspectives and experiences are our most powerful lobbying weapon. Join our growing cohort of Industry Champions.”

A recipient of support from automotive industry charity, Ben, also addressed delegates to share her story. The powerful speech highlighted the value of the services provided by Ben, and helped towards £10,000 being raised over the course of the evening to support the charity’s activities.

As well as the presentation to the worthy winners of the 2026 Industry Hero Awards, guests were entertained by comedian Tom Ward, world-renowned musician Okiem as well as after dinner entertainment of a DJ, casino tables, magician, Scalextric, karaoke car, caricaturist and photo booth.

The BVRLA would again like to thank the sponsors for 2026 who were vital to the success of the event, thank you to BYD, Aviloo, Close Brothers, Enterprise Mobility, Fleet Procure, Jaama, Motorway, PEAC Solutions, QV Systems, and Vehicle Rental Services.
