Payroll changes, are you ready?

Mandatory payrolling of Benefits in Kind (BiKs) will be introduced by April 2027, moving to real-time reporting from 6 April 2027.

The changes apply to company cars, car fuel, vans, van fuel and employer-provided medical benefits. Employers that provide these benefits but do not currently report them through payroll will need to ensure appropriate systems and processes are in place before the implementation deadline. Members providing customers with company cars, van or salary sacrifice vehicles may have a role to play in supporting those customers with the transition.

The BVRLA is in close contact with HMRC and will work to provide members with further updates or guidance ahead of the changes taking effect.
