Following the passing of the Employment Rights Act 2025, it is important that employers are aware and prepared for how employment laws and workers' rights are changing.

Last week the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) launched a new website, offering practical guidance and support on what the changes mean for employers and employees, and how they can get ready for upcoming changes. Content includes clear timelines, a summary of key changes and actions to take, and links to additional guidance.

Also available are Employment Rights Act factsheets to explain individual measures within the Employment Rights Act in more detail, including expected timelines.

As part of your BVRLA membership, members have access to the WorkNest Portal – an extensive online library of up-to-date downloadable resources. This includes practical guidance, templates, policies, precedents, and more across Employment Law/HR and Health & Safety, complementing the WorkNest advice line service.

To access the portal, your nominated member contact(s) will first need to register for an account with WorkNest. Once registered, the full range of resources will be available to explore.

If you experience any difficulties accessing the portal or finding the right information, you can contact WorkNest directly on 01244 667222 where their team will be happy to assist.

Make sure you have your organisation’s BVRLA membership number to hand, as WorkNest will need this to verify your membership.
