New RVSS security plan guidance

The BVRLA has published new guidance to support members in producing a Security Plan in line with the Rental Vehicle Security Scheme (RVSS) requirements.

The RVSS, including its 10-point Code of Practice, forms a mandatory part of the BVRLA Rental Code of Conduct. All Rental members are required to comply with these standards, with a Security Plan forming a key element of demonstrating adherence.

The guidance has been developed to help members understand the requirements of the Code of Practice and strengthen internal processes to ensure ongoing compliance. It includes an example Security Plan, providing a practical illustration of how the requirements can be embedded within day-to-day operations.

As part of the BVRLA’s inspection programme, members will be asked to provide evidence of their Security Plan and demonstrate how it is implemented in practice.

Members are encouraged to download the guidance from the BVRLA website and review their current approach to ensure compliance.
