Last year, the Advisory Electric Rate (AER) for business travel reimbursement was split to acknowledge the cost gap between the public and private electric vehicle charging networks. Rates are reviewed quarterly, with the latest figures coming into effect as of yesterday (1 June).
From 1 June, the AERs for fully electric cars are:
- 7p per mile for home charging
- 15p per mile for public charging.
The AER, which remains unchanged from 1 March, falls under the same review cycle as the Advisory Fuel Rates (AFR), which will see changes to petrol, diesel and LPG rates implemented from 1 June.
