David Taylor MP recently visited BVRLA member LCV Leasing in Hemel Hempstead to discuss the challenges facing businesses and drivers during the transition to zero-emission vehicles.
The visit formed part of the BVRLA’s Industry Champions programme. Discussions focussed on a range of issues affecting the sector, including recent tax changes for double cab pickup trucks, proposals for electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED), the availability of charging infrastructure and the importance of maintaining confidence in electric vehicles.
The meeting also explored the role of incentives in supporting the transition, with particular attention given to the importance of long-term policy certainty for businesses making fleet investment decisions.
The visit provided an opportunity for the MP to hear directly from a local business about how national policy decisions can affect commercial vehicle operators, fleet customers and drivers.
The BVRLA continues to support member engagement with policymakers to ensure the sector’s priorities are represented as the transition to zero-emission mobility progresses.
