Launch of Industry Standards Working Groups

Published

The BVRLA is launching two new Industry Standards Working Groups to strengthen member engagement and support the association’s ongoing commitment to raising standards across the sector.

To ensure focused and relevant discussion, the Working Groups will be split by sector:

  1. Industry Standards Working Group – Rental
  2. Industry Standards Working Group – Leasing

These groups will provide members with a dedicated forum to collaborate with their peers and the BVRLA, helping to shape and enhance the frameworks that underpin best practice across the industry.

The Working Groups will play a key role in reviewing and developing core elements of the BVRLA’s compliance and standards framework. Their Terms of Reference will include:

  1. Review of the BVRLA’s inspection programmes
  2. Ongoing development of the Code of Conduct
  3. Updates to the Fair Wear and Tear Guide
  4. Oversight and feedback on the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service.

Member input is critical to this process. These groups are an opportunity for members to share practical insights, highlight challenges and pain points, and contribute ideas that will help to inform how BVRLA standards evolve.

Representatives should ideally come from compliance, legal, or operational backgrounds, ensuring a broad and informed perspective across discussions. Members interested in joining either Working Group should contact [email protected].

Further details on meeting schedules and participation will be shared shortly.
