HGVs and the four zones of limited vision

National Highways is running a fourth wave of the ‘Know the HGV zones’ is road safety campaign that demonstrates to drivers how to drive safely around heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).

Drivers tend to underestimate the size and position of HGVs and their areas of limited vision. Because of the significant differences in weight, collisions with HGVs are more likely to cause severe injury or death. The campaign is designed to increase awareness and knowledge among road users of HGVs’ four zones of limited vision and educate them on how to pass safety.
