Help drivers prepare for vehicle return with Return Ready

The BVRLA has launched Return Ready, a new interactive guidance tool to educate drivers on the BVRLA’s Fair Wear and Tear Guide for Cars. Developed in partnership with Wondle, the pilot of Return Ready will be free for the customers of members to access, helping them to understand vehicle condition ahead of returning their leased car.

Available via the Consumer Advice pages on the BVRLA website, the self-service tool allows drivers to compare damage they have already identified against the BVRLA Fair Wear & Tear standard. Where relevant, Return Ready provides the corresponding wording from the guide, helping drivers make informed decisions about whether any remedial work may be appropriate before the vehicle is returned.

The tool has been designed to bring forward the discovery of potentially chargeable damage, giving drivers more time, greater choice and a simple digital experience that reflects modern customer expectations.

Return Ready has been designed as a complementary tool to existing return processes and does not provide repair cost estimates, apply individual leasing company standards or collect user data. It will only assess damage that the driver has already identified, and therefore is not designed as a substitute for a formal inspection.

The pilot will help the BVRLA and Wondle gather feedback and explore how digital guidance can support a smoother, more informed vehicle return experience for drivers and BVRLA members alike.

Members can explore Return Ready via the Consumer pages on the BVRLA website and are encouraged to share feedback as the pilot develops. Any queries should be directed to Amanda Brandon, Director of Member Engagement: [email protected]
