Members can now watch last week’s webinar on Electric Vehicle Excise Duty. Following extensive engagement on members’ behalf, the BVRLA hosted a 60-min webinar with updates and insights from the teams at DVLA and HM Treasury (HMT) that are developing eVED.
The session gave members an update on the eVED consultation from earlier this year and some of the proposed flexibilities for fleets that were confirmed as part of that process. The DVLA also outlines its preparations and current timeline before demonstrating the Fleet Management Service that is in development.
BVRLA members were then able to join one of two interactive workshops, considering the expected impacts on leasing and rental respectively. The workshops gave attendees the chance to discuss operational and practical aspects of the proposed implementation with the DVLA team, raise potential challenges and explore practical solutions.

The BVRLA’s engagement on this topic continues and the association still holds the position that eVED is the wrong tax at the wrong time.
