The BVRLA Vehicle and Fleet Management (VFM) Forum last week explored a range of topics affecting fleet operators, including the growing importance of vehicle data and connectivity, the use of green parts within vehicle repair and maintenance and developments in the service, maintenance and repair (SMR) market.

The Forum also heard about the changes to vehicle risk assessment frameworks, with attendees encouraged to provide feedback on how the new framework can be adapted to meet the needs of fleet operators. Sessions provided practical insights into the operational, commercial and regulatory challenges facing fleet businesses.

More than 60 delegates attended the Forum, hosted by INEOS Automotive. The event received an average delegate rating of 4.7 out of 5, with attendees praising both the quality of the content and the opportunity to network with peers from across the sector.

Phil Garthside, Head of Research and Insight at the BVRLA presented on the 2026 OEM Relationship Survey report findings, which provides members with an opportunity to assess the services and support provided by vehicle manufacturers.

Delegates had the opportunity to take part in a specialist 4x4 driving experience hosted by INEOS Automotive, offering a hands-on demonstration of vehicle capability in off-road conditions.

The VFM Forum is one of the BVRLA’s specialist member forums, bringing together fleet professionals three times a year to share insight, discuss emerging trends and hear from industry experts. Feedback from attendees highlighted the value of the programme, with one delegate commenting: “There is always a great variety of speakers talking about the topics which we are all challenged on.”

The next VFM Forum will take place in November, hosted by Jaguar Land Rover at Ashorne Hill near Leamington Spa. Registration is now open and members interested in attending are encouraged to secure their place via Vehicle and Fleet Management Forum.
