Future of fleet taxation

The future of fleet taxation will come under the spotlight at this year’s Fleets in Charge conference on 1 July, with a dedicated session exploring the impact of Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) and wider tax changes.

Chaired by the AA, the ‘Future of Motoring Taxes’ session will bring together leaders from across the rental and leasing sector alongside tax specialists from Ernst & Young and the BVRLA. The panel will address a central question facing the industry: will pay-per-mile taxation accelerate, pause or even reverse the EV transition?

Speakers will move beyond theory to examine what eVED means in practice for drivers, fleets and the public finances. The discussion will also cover the evolving landscape of company car taxation beyond 2028, as well as recent changes to the Capital Allowances regime and what they mean for fleet and leasing businesses.

The session will feature Caroline Sandall-Mansergh (Alphabet) and Mark Newberry (Europcar), alongside Nigel Morris (Ernst & Young) and the BVRLA’s Zohra Chagani, offering a mix of commercial, fiscal and policy insight on the road ahead for fleet taxation.

A small number of Early Bird tickets are still available to members at a reduced rate of £199 + VAT per person, offering a £100 saving on the standard price.

The event will provide opportunities for networking and discussion throughout the day, supported by event partners Allstar, Autotrader, AVILOO, The AA, Fleet Assist and Nexus Vehicle Management, with exhibitors including Jaama, Targa Telematics, The Charge Scheme and Volteras.
