Lessons from the lanes in 2025 and how they shape the used markets in 2026 formed the basis of the year’s first residual value and remarketing (RVR) forum. Hosted by BCA in the Midlands, the first RVR forum of 2026 offered a packed agenda and facilitated positive discussions among delegates from across the sector.
The half-day agenda covered current market trends and value analysis, through to OEM strategies, the ZEV Mandate and damage standards.
Attendees received a complete update on the residual value and remarketing landscape. Members gathered at BCA in Birmingham for the latest RVR Forum, chaired by Karl Lord (Enterprise), bringing together key industry voices to explore how the remarketing landscape is shaping up for 2026.
The day opened with a market update from Stuart Pearson (BCA), who provided a “view from the rostrum” on current trends across both the used car and used van markets, looking back at what performed strongly at the end of 2025 and how demand has started to evolve in early 2026.
Next, Amanda Brandon (BVRLA) delivered a policy outlook for 2026, highlighting the BVRLA’s priorities and expected developments. This included reflections and learning outcomes from Iceland, updates on ongoing eVED lobbying and campaigning, and a preview of wider BVRLA focus areas and campaigns planned for the year ahead.
Following the break, Chris Plumb (CAP-HPI) gave a detailed market overview, exploring used car value movements in 2025, key data insights from the year, and what early 2026 trends may indicate for the months ahead.
The conversation then turned to manufacturer priorities, with Jason Cranswick sharing an OEM outlook and discussing what is currently driving decision-making across the sector. Key themes included emerging brands, the ZEV mandate, shifting fuel type strategy, and continued uncertainty around eVED.
The final session of the forum focused on innovation in remarketing. Simon Carr introduced an overview of Wondle’s partnership pilot, designed to help customers check vehicle damage against the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear Guide, and outlined the expected outcomes and benefits of the initiative.
The next RVR Forum was confirmed for 18 June 2026, hosted by IM Motors in Solihull.
