BVRLA members in Scotland came together in Glasgow last week for the association's first Scottish Member Forum, creating an opportunity to discuss the issues affecting businesses in the region and engage directly with the BVRLA team.
The forum formed part of a wider programme of engagement in Glasgow. Member Services Director Simon Tebbutt and Head of Membership Greg Theaker arrived the previous day to meet with a number of local SME businesses, including existing members and businesses engaging with the association about membership.
The Member Forum was hosted at the Glasgow offices of BVRLA partner WorkNest, with Simon and Greg joined by Director of Policy and Public Affairs Thomas McLennan. Members also heard from WorkNest about the support and services available to them through the BVRLA partnership.
Earlier in the day, Thomas visited BVRLA member Arnold Clark at one of its Glasgow sites, meeting colleagues and learning more about its operations. The visit included a look at areas ranging from its in-house film department to electric dual-control learner vehicles and the wider services provided by the business.
There was also an unexpected automotive sight during the visit to Glasgow, with filming for The Batman: Part II taking place in the city centre. The team caught a glimpse of one of Gotham City's police cars following what appeared to have been a particularly eventful car chase. It is fair to say the vehicle would fall outside the BVRLA's Fair Wear and Tear Standard.
