From 2 February, the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) phone lines will open between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
The DVSA is making this change due to the small number of calls received outside of these times.
For many customers, there will be no change. The service reports that 98% of the calls received are between 8am and 5pm, and the same number of contact centre colleagues will be working during the new hours.
The customer service centre can also be contacted using WhatsApp messages.
To use it, put the number +44 (0)1908 787001 into WhatsApp. It will only work with messages and will not work with calls.
The DVSA can be messaged at any time, even if the customer service centre is closed, replies will be sent during open hours.
The DVSA can also be contacted via:
• telephone: 0300 200 1122.
