BVRLA Budget Asks and Actions

On 28 October, Chancellor John Healey delivers his first Budget.

The decisions made on vehicle taxation will shape fleet investment, the used-EV market and member firm decisions for years to come.

This is a critical year, and MPs need to hear it from the businesses and drivers in their own constituency.

Our five asks:

  1. Rethink eVED
  2. Hold BEV company car tax (BiK) at 9% for 2030/31 and 2031/32
  3. Cut the taxable value (P11D) of used EVs to support the second-hand market
  4. Protect salary sacrifice for electric vehicles
  5. Extend the 40% first-year capital allowance to BEV company cars
