Over the past decade, the volume of road traffic and enforcement fines has increased significantly, placing growing operational and administrative pressure on organisations across the mobility and fleet sector. Managing offences, penalty charge notices (PCNs), appeals, and statutory declarations now requires more time, accuracy, and specialist knowledge than ever before.

This instructor-led online masterclass has been designed to equip participants with the practical expertise and confidence needed to handle road traffic offences efficiently and compliantly. Attendees will gain clear guidance on managing PCNs, challenging enforcement authority decisions, submitting statutory declarations, and implementing best-practice processes that support internal teams.

While the course has been developed with BVRLA members in mind, non-BVRLA members are also very welcome to attend.

Participants will gain a practical understanding of the UK penalty enforcement landscape, including the different road traffic penalty regimes, the authorities responsible for issuing and enforcing notices, and the legal frameworks that underpin them. The course also focuses on liability management, helping organisations understand when a penalty can be lawfully transferred to a driver and when responsibility remains with the business.

The session provides structured guidance on processing penalty notices efficiently, meeting statutory deadlines, avoiding escalation, and identifying valid grounds for representations and appeals. It also covers how to handle customer enquiries relating to penalties professionally and compliantly.

By the end of the course, attendees will have the knowledge and practical tools to streamline internal processes, reduce administrative errors, and minimise unnecessary penalty expenditure.

The result is clear return on investment (ROI) through improved operational efficiency, reduced financial exposure, and stronger internal capability to manage offences and enforcement activity effectively.

Key benefits of attending:

  • Reduce unnecessary penalty and enforcement costs

  • Improve efficiency and consistency in PCN administration

  • Minimise compliance and financial risk

  • Strengthen internal expertise in managing offences and appeals

  • Deliver measurable ROI through better penalty management processes
