Next month the BVRLA is hosting a Parliamentary drop-in event to highlight the vital role salary sacrifice schemes play in the affordable uptake of electric cars and the need for future tax clarity to continue this good work.
The latest battery electric cars are in reach for more people than ever before. Over 60% of salary sacrifice drivers are basic rate taxpayers - this tax approach is truly democratising the transition to Net Zero. In time, as these vehicles feed the second-hand market and make electric vehicles available to all drivers.
At the event, invited MPs and Lords can directly engage with industry representatives to discuss how salary sacrifice schemes are revolutionising the route to zero emission motoring, while also being given the opportunity to be driven around Westminster in a typical salary sacrifice electric vehicle.
As part of the event, MPs will be invited to sign the association’s Salary Sacrifice pledge, which will be printed on one of the event’s EVs.
The BVRLA needs the support of members as part of its #SeeTheBenefit campaign. You can help by writing to your local MP to ask them to attend our event and support our key objectives:
