Sheffield City Council and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council have launched their Class C Clean Air Zone (CAZ), effective as of 27 February 2023.
Charges will apply to taxis, private hire, buses, coaches, HGVs and LCVs. For more information visit the Clean Air Sheffield website. You can check if you will be charged in this and other cities’ CAZs on the Government’s vehicle checker.
Eligible businesses and residents in Sheffield may be able to apply for financial support to upgrade to cleaner vehicles. To apply and find out further information about Sheffield's Class C CAZ, please visit the Council's website.
The Joint Air Quality Unit (JAQU) is currently reviewing the evidence provided for a changed Greater Manchester clean air proposal and that CAZ is on hold. Visit Cleanairgm to remain updated.
Transport for London is expanding the Ultra Low Emission Zone from 29 August 2023.
