Questions posed to FCA on Consumer Duty

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) joined the BVRLA this afternoon (15 November) for an exclusive ‘Exploring Consumer Duty with the FCA’ webinar.

Topics covered among the questions submitted for the session were:

  • Achieving good outcomes at all stages of the distribution chain
  • Addressing customer affordability issues
  • Clarity on when Leasing Brokers and Lenders are considered as Manufacturers or Distributors under the Duty
  • How the Duty applies to smaller firms and those with Limited FCA Permissions.

Richard Wilson, who manages the FCA’s Consumer Duty Policy team, joined the BVRLA’s Director of Legal and Membership Shashi Maharaj for the Q&A session. A recording of the webinar will be made available to members on the BVRLA website shortly, so look out for details.
