The BVRLA bid a fond farewell to Nora Leggett last month, after the industry stalwart retired having served the association and its members for more than 26 years.
Nora’s three decades with the association saw her work with three CEOs and take responsibility for several important functions, most recently as Director of Member Services and then HR Director.
After joining the BVRLA in 1997, she played a pivotal role in developing some of the association’s key member services, events and learning and development offerings. She has supported the BVRLA’s response to a series of tumultuous events, including the Credit Crunch, vehicle-as-a-weapon terrorist attacks, EU Exit and Covid.
“Nora’s contribution to our organisation and the industry at large has been immense. Her dedication, enthusiasm, commercial skills, and industry knowledge have played a vital role in bringing the BVRLA to the strong position it is in today,” said BVRLA Chief Executive, Gerry Keaney.
Her sustained influence was recognised at the last BVRLA Committee of Management, where the association’s directors gave Nora a special award for her ‘exemplary leadership and outstanding contribution.’
Reflecting on her career to date, Nora said: “I am proud of what I have achieved working with members and with colleagues during my 40-year career. It has been an extraordinary privilege to have served the vehicle rental and leasing sector, firstly with Hertz UK and latterly with the BVRLA. I have been lucky enough to work with some incredibly talented people and have enjoyed every minute of it.”
