Navigating the Digital Markets Act: Subscription Products

A new act from government has outlined what classifies as a ‘subscription product’. The contents of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 may require some members to review their products and how agreements are put together.

The BVRLA has produced a guidance document on Subscription Products under the new Act. The factsheet aims to provide members with an understanding of the new UK legislation surrounding subscription contracts and the kind of agreement that will be considered as such.

Members’ products may fall into the requirements of this new legislation dependent on their product model and the definition of subscription under the Act.

Review the Act and the BVRLA guidance to understand how the legislation could impact your business and ensure you remain compliant.
