The leasing broker fleet has grown by 2.7% this year to reach its highest level ever, according to the latest figures from the BVRLA. Surpassing 400,000 vehicles for the first time, the association’s broker channel fleet remains at a healthy level in the face of extensive supply challenges.
The biannual leasing broker survey contains data for July 2021 - June 2022. The latest report also shows that the prolonged supply challenges are still presenting an extreme barrier to brokers in meeting their customers’ needs, although the impact has plateaued having peaked in March 2022.
While the total fleet size has continued the long-term trend of growing year on year, fewer new vehicles have been added when compared to 2021. Vehicles being kept on fleet for longer has therefore contributed to the total growth, as BVRLA members have adapted to the supply challenges to meet customer needs.
