In this week’s BVRLA Blog, Toby Poston, the association’s Director of External Relations, talks about the challenges of urban transport and sustainable planning through the ages, from horses to modern day mobility services.
Toby comments on the recent change in urban policy makers’ language and strategy, which has resulted in a much greater focus on the impact that different transport modes have on the people and areas surrounding them.
The vehicle leasing, rental and car club industry is ideally placed to deliver this transition, and BVRLA members are having exciting discussions with urban policymakers and customers. Today’s congestion charges and Clean Air Zones are just the start of a shift in urban transport that will be increasingly active, electric or shared, Toby suggests.
