Help shape the future of mobility

Vehicle safety and the negative impacts of misleading marketing will be the focal points of some upcoming government consultations. The Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, which is part of the Department for Transport (DfT), has confirmed the timings for forthcoming consultations following the passing of the Automated Vehicles Act 2024.

BVRLA members raise similar concerns when looking at the future impact of connected and autonomous vehicles. Access to data, where liability will sit in the event of an accident, and responsibility for education are common themes that need addressing before the technology becomes widely available. All be key considerations to be addressed during the consultation process.

The BVRLA is aware of a call for evidence in Spring 2025 and ahead of this is setting up a Future Mobility Working Group. Members are asked to express an interest in signing up to the group and learning more, email [email protected].
