Government urged to look at Used BEV support

Over two hundred members and guests attended the BVRLA’s Fleets in Charge Conference last week, with a key theme across the event being Used BEV support.

A live poll of attendees asked; ‘What is your number one ask of the new Government?’. ‘Used BEV support’ came out on top, followed by EV grants for purchases, clarity on 2030 EV deadline and ZEV mandate review.

Government priorities were explored in detail as part of the headline panel session involving senior leaders from Charge UK, The AA, SMMT, and the BVRLA. The challenges around the used BEV market were often cited, with calls for the new Labour government to put more focus on meeting the issues head on.

Fittingly, the next event in the Fleets in Charge programme is a Deep Dive into the Used BEV market. Taking place on Tuesday 17 September, the half-day event – ‘Happy EV After? Unleashing the potential of Used BEVs’ – will give members the opportunity to hear from expert speakers and raise concerns or pose questions alongside likeminded professionals.

The Deep Dive will take place in central London and the sessions will include:

  • A look at the ‘State of the market’ over the next 12 months with Autotrader, cap hpi, Autovista and Cox Automotive
  • A deep dive into exclusive BVRLA research with Oxford Economics
  • Government update
  • Session on finding and serving consumer needs
  • Used BEV campaign.

The BVRLA would like to thank sponsors Auto Trader UK and Arval UK.
