Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Support and the Information Commissioners Office publish data protection advice for businesses preparing for a no-deal Brexit.
Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Support (DCMS) has published a policy statement on data protection in the event of the UK leaving the EU without a deal.
The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) has also published more detailed guidance with practical advice to organisations on how they can prepare for this scenario. The ICO commented:
“Delivering an overall deal with the EU is the government’s top priority, and we do not want or expect a 'no deal' scenario. However, as the government has repeatedly made clear, we have a responsibility to prepare for all potential outcomes.”
This policy statement and ICO guidance builds on existing guidance and advice.
