The agency responsible for driver and vehicle safety will be subject to an independent review, as announced by the government. The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency will be assessed on the four pillars set by Cabinet Office, efficiency, efficacy, accountability, and governance.
As technology develops, the review will consider the extent to which the Agency is futureproofing its processes, alongside how well it is set up to deliver government priorities.
The review does not include a formal consultation but external stakeholders are expected to be included as part of the process. The BVRLA will be sharing member views with the independent review team.
Members with views on how the DVSA delivers its services should contact [email protected]. Views should relate to the DVSA’s key responsibilities:
- Driving tests
- Roadside vehicle checks
- Delivery of MOT regime, including the approval of individuals and centres to conduct MOTs
- Monitoring vehicle recalls
