Following news last week that the delivery period for Plug in Vehicle Grant orders will be extended temporarily to 18 months, covering car and van orders placed between 14 June 2021 and 31 March 2023, the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) offers further clarification.
For new orders, this extension covers eligible vehicles for the grant schemes that are currently open. The Plug in Car Grant (PICG) is not being reopened for new orders.
The only orders eligible for the PICG will be any orders that were added between 14 June 2021 (when this delivery window extension is valid from) and 14 June 2022 (when the PICG closed to new orders) - providing orders were not registered before / prior to the original 12-month extension delivery period.
These orders will be honoured providing the vehicles are delivered within the timeframe and the rest of the PICG criteria is met.
