Changes to ICO Data Protection fee

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has published increased amounts for the ICO data protection fee. In place since 18 February, the charges go towards supporting the ICO’s ongoing work in providing advice and resources to help small and medium organisations comply with data protection law.

Charges are tiered based on the size of the organisation:

  • Tier 1 (micro-organisations) – £52

  • Tier 2 (small or medium organisations) – £78

  • Tier 3 (large organisations) – £3,763

Exemption criteria is unchanged as a result of the increased fees, while a £5 discount for paying via Direct Debit remains.
