Last week the BVRLA attended an MP drop-in event hosted by Lex Autolease. Organised to promote the asks of the leasing sector of government, attendees also had the chance to discuss the latest research conducted by Lex Autolease.
Transport Minister Anthony Browne MP attended and spent an hour engaging on topics such as the costs of on street charging, how to myth bust the disinformation currently putting off more drivers from taking up an EV, the used BEV market, and the shortfall in those trained to perform EV repairs.
Also in attendance were members of the Transport Select Committee and the Liberal Democrat transport Spokesperson, Baroness Randerson.
The BVRLA highlighted issues around the used EV market and the importance of salary sacrifice for getting lower earners into EVs. Government representatives also heard of the need for fit-for-purpose charging strategies to be developed and delivered by local authorities.
Jack Brereton MP used the event as an opportunity to emphasise the issues explained to him by broker member Central Contracts, BVRLA Industry Champions who recently hosted him for a visit.
The BVRLA is available to support you with MP engagement and can help you facilitate your own meeting via our Industry Champions programme.
