The Financial Conduct Authority is warning of unscrupulous fraudsters contacting people and firms through emails, letters and on the phone, claiming to be from the FCA.
Sophisticated scammers are sometimes using the name of FCA employees to make them seem genuine. Some are even making the FCA switchboard numbers – 020 7066 1000, 0300 500 8082 and 0800 111 6768 – appear in the caller ID of people they contact.
