Bath is introducing a new range of financial support to help drivers affected by the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) it plans to introduce in November this year.
Local businesses will be able to apply for financial support in the form of grants and interest-free finance, specifically to upgrade uncompliant vehicles that will be charged to enter the zone once it comes into effect.
Bath & North East Somerset Council is inviting tenders from FCA-registered finance companies to administer a financial assistance scheme. The council intends to establish a framework for up to 12 finance providers that can also be used by other councils setting up a charging CAZ or other forms of road user charging/enforcement schemes.
The initial focus is on inviting tenders from finance providers to administer Bath’s financial assistance scheme, however, the council is also interested to hear from other councils that wish to participate in the framework.
Finance providers wishing to tender for Bath CAZ financial assistance scheme can register via its procurement portal.
