Who should attend?

  • It is suitable for any one who regularly discusses the condition of the vehicle with the customer in a practical way pre- or post-rental.

  • Those involved in assessing costs charged to the customer.

  • Vehicle Inspectors or others working in a technical role.

Aims and Objectives

Delegates will gain an understanding of the key principles influencing vehicle re-hire and resale and will be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of how to effectively inspect a vehicle.

Useful advice and tips will be given on how to encourage customers to care for the vehicle and prevent problems arising at rental termination.

The course can be delivered from either a technical or customer-facing perspective.

  • How damage will impact on the vehicle, its saleability and its value at the end of its rental life
  • Differences between 'acceptable' damage and ‘unacceptable’ damage relative to a vehicles age and mileage
  • Impact of completeness of vehicle documentation, servicing, repairs and general care taken by the customer. Reduce customer charges or refurbishment costs at end of rental
  • Appraisal of a vehicle using a dedicated method relating any findings to the principle of 'acceptable' or ‘unacceptable’ damage
  • Effective communication methods with customers to limit misunderstandings and resolve problematic issues. (where relevant)

Training will be delivered with a 75 – 25% split classroom to practical workshop. Delegates should be able to attain a minimum of 75% pass mark in the post course validation paper.

This programme is interactive and involves role playing to practice the principles covered in the course.
