The BVRLA offers the ATA (automotive technician accreditation) Technical Customer Service Advisor (Rental & Leasing) programme to those working in technical services departments within our industry.

Technical services advisors are a specialist group within our industry whose role is to validate service, maintenance and repair expenditure, provide technical support for drivers and fleet managers – all whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer care.

The Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) is governed by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). In addition to measuring professional competence against a set of key skills, all accredited technicians in the automotive industry commit to a code of conduct which gives the ATA programme its ethical credibility. It provides proof of their competence and desire to work to high professional standards – this is what distinguishes it from other qualifications.

The IMI’s ATA, accredited automotive technician, is an industry benchmark of professional and technical competence. Supporting the standard gives a clear message to customers about BVRLA members’ commitment to excellence.

The ATA accreditation is valid for 5 years and costs £295 plus VAT per candidate.
