Who should attend?

  • This course has been developed with new or potential daily rental branch managers and supervisors in mind, designed to deliver all the essential information necessary to ensure compliance with the BVRLA code of conduct.

Aims and objectives

This course aims to teach core management principles, skills and knowledge involved in managing a daily rental location and managing staff.

  • Define Management and identify different management styles
  • Clearly identify their goals and understand the importance of identifying goals
  • Understand Time Management principles and the importance of prioritising tasks and delegation
  • Effectively deliver a short presentation
  • Identify the most appropriate methods of advertising vacancies
  • Carry out an interview and select a suitable candidate with reference to Job Specification and Person Specification
  • Understand the significance of insurance and its costs to the industry and the importance of prompt action when dealing with claims
  • Put into practise skills required to effectively manage a team of people with reference to motivation, training and communication
