Theft and fraud reports

Each year the BVRLA surveys its daily rental members to obtain information on their experiences of vehicle theft and fraud. The range of organisations surveyed is representative of BVRLA membership. Members’ submissions are summarised in an annual report which will aid organisations to:

• identify trends in operational risk that affect profitability
• bench-mark their own performance against the daily rental industry’s aggregated numbers of vehicle thefts, conversions and recoveries

The information gathered also drives the agenda and the work of the BVRLA’s Risk Management and Security Committee. The objectives of this Committee are to raise and promote awareness of industry risk-related issues such as insurance fraud and vehicle impounding and find ways to minimise these risks.
